George
According to Les Durrant’s Once Upon a Time in Poynton, the village where I am staying with family, there is a ghost at number 100 Park Lane. Once it was a tobacconist ( 1910-1950s) and footsteps could be heard upstairs and the noise of heavy weights being moved in the cigarette store room. There is also a smell of cigarette smoke downstairs. Mr Pearson, the tobacconist in 1950, called it George, so it is not his ghost. It is also mischievous and hides things, or manifests itself as a cold sensation in the room. The shop is now an opticians, with a hair and beauty salon upstairs. George was quite adventurous as he often appeared next door as well. I will have to find a reason to go in and see if I can sense anything.
