Christmas cake

Today we had our second Christmas dinner, joined by CJ and Lizzy, who had been with their own families on Christmas Day. It was a somewhat more traditional meal of turkey with all the trimmings, followed by a Yule Log decorated with marzipan fungi. We also finally got to cut the Christmas cake, which was beautifully decorated by Pete.

The Secret Santa presents were a great success - lots of hand made elements, including truffles, flavoured gin, a crocheted octopus, a painted silk sun-catcher, a necklace and a sketch book covered with hand dyed fabric. The bought presents were all from small producers and included an enameled moth brooch and a bee hotel. Another very jolly evening - somehow I didn't get to bed until 2 in the morning!!
