Life through the lens...

Leeds

Our first visit to Leeds since before Covid.
The bus was only about a third full, and 90% were wearing masks.

I needed to visit Barclays Bank as I am still Wine Club treasurer.
Originally I used to go to Cleckheaton, then Brighouse. However these branches have all closed, and Leeds is the nearest now.

It felt strange walking through the town centre.
Not very busy for the time of year.
Just went into one shop. North Face, as Mr C wanted a new lightweight jacket to replace the one he has had for about 10 years.
( They may seem expensive, but certainly last well! )
However needless to say the one he liked wasn’t in his size.

Then walked to the bus station through the arcades, and market, and caught the first bus back home.

The one thing we do still enjoy about Leeds is the architecture of the old buildings, and reading the blue plaques.
This one was The Church Institute, completed in 1868.
The British Deaf Association was also founded here in 1890.
Now offices and on the ground floor Pizza Express, Byron Burger, and Card Factory.
The building was sold in September for £6.7m.

I think it will be a few more months before we visit again.
