Crochet throw

I finished this some time ago so am now knitting for a change. I really enjoy crochet because it grows quickly, uses fun colours and enables me to learn new stitches.

Today is another mild murky day. I uploaded a Blurb book for the 35% 0ffer then made Nathaniel’s cake for his 8th birthday on Sunday. (I started blipping the day before he was born.) I hope it doesn’t go too stale but we are going away.

I also a pudding - my contribution to our Hogmanay dinner tomorrow - Christmas pudding and clementine cheesecake. The recipe wasn’t great - it used sugar in the ginger biscuit base and far too many biscuits so I changed that. It also had sugar in with the cream and soft cheese so I left that out. It seemed sweet enough with the blended up pudding and Cointreau. Tomorrow I have to slice clementines and put a sprinkling of muscovado sugar on them then blow torch it. I think Mr C can do that bit.

We bought a 2 rib of beef from the good butcher in the next village. I rarely cook meat so Mike will do that. Sheila sourced some horseradish so we’ll have homemade sauce.

I lost 3 hours of my life watching “A very British Scandal”. It made me cross on lots of levels - woman shaming, aristocratic privilege and the misogyny openly displayed. I enjoyed the frocks but the rest, though well-acted, was boring. Is it because all the heads of clan Campbell are English they can’t spell Iain?
