Chapel

Megan and I awake in the luxury of the annexe in Llanishen. I dally over tea and coffee and boiled eggs before we head for home.

It’s a long journey, but relaxed. The first recharge is at Stoke. The service station is mobbed, so we head for a Harvester off the motorway and enjoy a passable lunch as the car charges.

Second stop is at the Lancaster park and ride. A bank of empty chargers us, but there are no amenities. I pave the car park talking to Lucy, isolating a couple of miles away in the centre of town.

Third and final stop is in Gretna in a vast, empty, floodlit car park at the edge of town. Everything is shut. We walk to a pizza shop - shut. We pass a pub/hotel - shut, with alarm ringing.

Then home, and finally, to the chapel. My new, temporary home. Amen.
