Coppicing plans
This morning, we met with Ch and Cl in our local wildlife area to discuss some major works we want to carry out over the next few months. We planted the area with whips of native trees, sixteen years ago. The trees have grown very successfully (too successfully really) as they all seem to have survived and are now overcrowded, with virtually no understorey plants. We agreed on a coppicing operation and Ch has marked the trees to be cut with yellow, and those to be left with red, spray paint. So this is the "before " picture. The actual work party session will be in about 10 days time .
We then each enjoyed a small glass of Ch's special home made blackberry whiskey, while a Red Kite circled above.
