Back Fence ...

... with bits of snow, just beyond our driveway.

I'm having trouble with dates, so this is being posted earlier than it should have been--on 12/27, even though today is the 28th.  I hope we'll return to normalcy tomorrow  :)

This evening (the 28th) we watched an excellent two-hour CNN program on Angela Merkel, whose 16-year term as German chancellor is coming to an end.  My best language is German, so it was fun to hear bits of it coming through and around the English.  She will be a very hard act to follow.
