Bells

Whenever I'm in Uckfield, I make a mini pilgrimage to the church of St Margaret the Queen in Buxted. Today I set off in pouring rain and the paths were very muddy. In parts, I had to cross huge puddles by balancing on slippery logs. I was glad I'd worn my walking boots :-)

Once at the church, I had a real treat as the Surrey Bell ringers were practising. I've always been fascinated by bells and bellringing and the language and the names of the peals (eg Kent Triple Bob, Deva Surprise Major, Grandsire Major) It's not so common north of the border. I sat and watched the practice and listened outside as well before walking back on a less muddy route along the road.

Mum and I finished a whole 500 piece jigsaw this afternoon and then I cooked the tea.

Dad's doing the washing up and Mum has nodded off next to me :-)
