Rays of the sun in mid-winter over Rodborough
On my walk up the hilside to the old cemetery the weather improved with the low hanging cloud cover receding slowly. By the time i'd been round the cemetery and returned to the Chapels of Rest the sun was actually braking through the clouds on the far side of the Golden Valley.
The chapels are a much loved place to take in the views across Stroud and west to the River Severn's Vale. But I also like looking direclty south to where Rodborough Common spreads eastwards and joins up with Minchinhampton Common.
I always find pointing a camera towards the strong light of the sun means results are likely to be unusual. But I'm pleased I caught some of the atmosphere of the crepuscular rays as they shine down over and through the mists that hang low over the combes of Montserratt and Bagpath Lane.
