Tent Chaos
Two cars are being packed up as the three day Christmas gathering draws to an end. When suddenly five more presents are produced. Five play tents in the shape of castles and unicorns, one for each of the children. They are all immediately flipped open and the kitchen is covered in tents. Chaos ensues and the mini dens are relocated to another room. Mrs S and I make an excuse and leave them to it, heading down the M40.
Someone is going to have to fold up two of them before parting. Putting one of those springy frames back in its bag is an impossible task. The genies are out of their bottles.
It h as been a brilliant family get together. Everyone has loved it and the little ones haven’t had any meltdowns. Back home now it’s gone all quiet and tidy. Cold cuts again for supper.
Post Script: three of the five children insisted on sleeping in them, by now relocated to their bedrooms. I havn’t yet heard what time they woke up on the 28th. I hate to think. See extra.
