Super Herd

A walk at Tatton Park this morning, our usual route.
However, we had to make a slight detour. The red and fallow deer had joined up to form a super herd, which we would have had to walk right through. We didn’t want to disrupt their grazing, so we skirted the herd. The density of deer in one place was impressive. The jackdaws and starlings were also there in force, I guess because the deer might have been disturbing invertebrate life in the grass and sedge tussocks.
The ability to scratch your nose with your rear left “foot” is to be much admired.
