Dava Summit

The highest point on what is now the Dava Way, the long distance footpath following the route of the disused Highland Railway Line between Forres and Grantown on Spey. (Later L. M. S. Railway) The closure of the railway in 1965 was a major factor in the depopulation of Dava Moor.

This morning there were snow flurries and a biting wind which enhanced the starkness and bleak beauty of the Moor.
