South Coast Scribblings

I was stuck for ideas today - horrible outside, freezing and snowing. So I spotted this painting that I did a few years ago as a birthday present for my son. I had the idea of framing his face in the lens of his camera, so it had to travel to Art with me - I think I made up some excuse for borrowing it! I deliberately kept the painting style very free, as I knew he was not into photorealism in Art for portraiture. He did genuinely like it and it now hangs on the wall above the stairs - which made it difficult to photograph as I was having to balance (couldn't be bothered to take it down!) So I managed to capture most of the painting, though a bit of the top and bottom are missing!! He had his hair gelled up at the time - he now has more of a fringe. I really enjoyed doing this, and my Art teacher suggested including a bit of the black and yellow strap of the camera on the top left-hand side to add interest.
