We had a quiet journey back home today. It is so different without all the trucks. The weather was miserable with fog, rain and grey skies. But at least we avoided the snow which apparently had closed the A66. We went by the M6 instead. 

In the morning we had all gathered briefly at our daughter's, where bacon sandwiches were provided. A fine ending to a lovely family weekend. 

At home I unpacked the hamper the family had put together for us - the perfect gift. Lots of French food and some very carefully selected French wine from the Wine Bar in Newlyn. They thought we would be missing France, so that was the reason for the choices. I wonder whether we will get there this year!
