Boxing Day

I like Boxing Day. Enough to make it feel like a fun day but more relaxing. At least that's how it always felt in the past - everything is more relaxing now.

We had a lovely day yesterday. A walk followed by a delightful lunch of smoked salmon, prawns, smoked mackerel pate and the like prepared by my son. We opened gifts and the girls delighted us with their enthusiasm. Had a chat with the family in snowy Poland. - 10° predicted for today. Left before dark, came home and ate a big meal in the evening. Extra: we don't do a traditional Christmas cake but there's always this sort of creation.

Flora was not forgotten as you can see from the blip.

A friend is coming for coffee and mince pies (or cake) this morning. Our daughter will be back later and we will eat in her company again tonight. I'll catch up with my sister this afternoon.

Candles have been lit. The weather has turned less pleasant than yesterday so their warm light is needed. No snow here at all.
