Grýla

The Icelandic Yule Family. While the Yule Lads return back to their mountain home, one by one, in the same order as they arrived to town until the last one, Kertasníkir, leaves on the last day of Christmas, January 6th, I have a few more characters to introduce. Grýla is a giantess and the mother of the Yule Lads. She lives in a cave with her husband and a cat and has an appetite for the flesh of mischievous children, whom she cooks in a large pot.
