dad

We took my dad out into Derbyshire to Chatsworth house yesterday. It's not far from where we live and over the years I have spent many happy hours wandering the grounds, having picnics and gazing at the river.

My dad has korsakovs syndrome which means he damaged his frontal lobe through being an alcoholic. After years of care now we are in a situation where dad is comfortable and can live in his own home. Charlotte is a complete star and coordinates most of his care but it is a hard battle sometimes and I can't thank her enough especially a she is balancing this with her own illness.

I tried to get some candid shots of dad through out the day but this one was the best. He was sitting by the window in the main Chatsworth house reading the information about the room and the light was lovely (It was a gorgeous day yesterday and really felt as though spring was here - again) It was a little too strong on his face so I had to balance it a little by bringing the highlights down but either way - I'm happy with it.
