Pit lane
Popped over to Maranatha Lodge with Mrs Dominie this afternoon to visit her Dad in his unit there. It is a bright and cheerful place, especially in the part where he lives with the other people better able to look out for themselves. The staff are diamonds, the recreational facilities admirable and the food of the standard of a good restaurant.
The main thing is, Amos likes it there. He appreciates his holidays too, mind you, and today we spent some time planning our next road trip with him to catch up with family and friends in Newcastle - the New South Wales version, of course, not the Geordie one.
Not all of the Maranatha residents are as good on their legs as Amos is - he goes out for three or four walks a day, and can move at a brisk clip for a nonagenarian. If he wants to go into town, we take him by car. Quite a few of his friends choose to have scooters, and here are a few parked in a corridor having their batteries recharged.
