Yule log “stump”

My daughter makes a Yule log cake at Christmas. She prefers to make it as a stump instead of a rolled cake. I love her decorations of marshmallow mushrooms and bracket fungus and moss made of ground green pistachios.
She lives in Wyoming and we live in Oregon so I have never gotten to taste her Yule stump cake.
