"I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas..."

Cookie making went well and I decided to make hippo Christmas cookies this year.  I have lots and lots of cookie cutters but this one really tickled me.  I thought of the silly Christmas song that came out in 1954 of course but I also thought of William, the unofficial mascot of the Metropolitan Museum of New York.  I have a sculpture of him in my studio.  That is why my cookies have blue sprinkles instead of red and green.  William seemed to have gained a few pounds in the oven!  Some came out really plump!  No matter.  I am sure Santa will enjoy them tonight with his glass of milk.  Happy Christmas Eve!
