Memorial, Danby Churchyard

I took my Christmas wreath to lay on Ann’s grave.  Still no memorial stone!  Would you believe that the mason can’t get Yorkshire Stone - in Yorkshire.  The recent stones erected nearby are all granite.  I like the idea of the gradual weathering of the Yorkshire stone.  There are some fantastic lichen patterns on some of the older stones.  Ann loved those as well as being interested in the inscriptions.

A think the erection of the stone will bring me another kind of closure.  I didn’t think that 14 months on it wouldn’t be there.
