CARD TABLE

I put our tree up today, displacing all the houseplants from their space by the big window and trusting that they won't keel over from lack of light until the 12 Days of Christmas are up and they can go back.

We (I) haven't bothered with a tree for the last few years, and I got a bit teary digging out the old forgotten ornaments again and hanging them. I had planned to have a ruthless cull of Christmas decorations when January comes, but I'm not sure now that I can get rid of the moose with one antler and the 30-year old (and showing it) red apples we bought in the States when we spent Christmas in Baltimore with one of my sisters. Santa made of toilet roll tubes has sadly bitten the dust after nearly 40 years, though.
