Brave Heart

This ornament is from Christmas 2001, the year of the 9/11 attacks.  Christopher Radko designed it to commemorate the lives lost that day and he donated all the proceeds from sales to the disaster relief fund of the American Red Cross of New York.  I only remember those details because I kept the little card attached to it.  Hard to believe it's been 20 years.

It was a busy day baking!  I made a lot more cookies than I planned.  Once I get going, it's hard to stop and it's nice to have some to share with neighbors. :-)

I am grateful to PD for setting up my heavy mixer and getting cookie sheets from the bottom shelf but, most importantly, cleaning up all the mess when I finished!  Yes, I know he's a keeper. ;-)
