For my uncle frank
This is my teddy Uncle Frank, it is about 26 years old and is one of the 2 teddies to have survived into my adult hood.... and the only one to come to Sheffield with me when I moved here for university many years ago.
He is so named, as I received him on the same day my (great) Uncle Frank knocked my front tooth out on the seesaw when I was about 3 and remained a gappy smile until I was about 8. He was a big part of my younger years and is part of some of my earliest memories, jigging on his knee, a big laugh, being given this teddy and his size, obviously the knocking out my front tooth and his presence of this huge tall giant of a Yorkshire man.
He passed away this week, he was sick and elderly, as I adult I don't know him well and last saw him about 5 years ago, but his name brings a smile to my face and my actual Uncle Frank gave me this Uncle Frank, which will be with me for the rest of days. Thanks real Uncle Frank. xxx
