Natures Christmas Decorations
The shortest day today. From now on the days will be getting longer, role on summer.
Christmas cards delivered. Rather than just walking the streets I chose a route that involves strolling through fields and edging round some woods. Took Dudley, he quickly developed knee length dark boots on all his legs as he ran through the muddy puddles. He was in the bath within minutes of getting home, much to his discust.
I realised that I have not just wandered along the local footpaths with Dudley and my camera for quite a long time. Although I spend a lot of time outside this is virtually always inside my garden gates. I have been very inward looking, I need to change this next year.
I have today emailed all the people we normally have here for a New Years Eve afternoon soiree rescheduling it from 31st December to June or July next year. A Covid casualty as is Malcolm and David's usual Christmas lunch gathering as well as many other gettogethers. These guys invited us for a meal tonight for a last chance of meeting for the year. As usual it was a pleasant evening centered mainly round their 18 month old brother and sister Jack Russel's. Good food, good company but late for a school night.
