Reflective

Happy Solstice to all! 

In the darkness of winter there are already signs of spring - rosettes of annual species such as Common Whitlow-grass, immature catkins of Hazel and the first leaves of spring bulbs poking through the soil. It's a time to reflect and a time to look forward to lengthening days and birdsong.

I was hoping for a Solstice sunset on my walk round Ferry Meadows, but the clouds never cleared and the otters were elusive, so I had to make do with photographing reflections - willows and reeds along the river and the lights of the cafe reflecting on Gunwade Lake.
