Confusion

I think our corkscrew hazel tree is confused.  It still has a few remaining autumn leaves clinging on but has sprouted catkins already!

Apart from nipping outdoors this morning to take this photo, I've pretty much been in the kitchen all day.  I really enjoy the build-up to Christmas and today's jobs have included icing some Christmas spice biscuits and soaking dried fruit in brandy ready for the Christmas pudding ice cream that I'm making tomorrow.  The weather has been overcast again but I felt very warm and cosy in my kitchen.
