Dartmoor Today
I found an oasis of sunshine today on Dartmoor, but it was bitterly cold in the north-easterly wind. This is one of the two granite pillars on Great Staple Tor. Some people might say I can't see what you see in an old pile of rocks, but to me every tor is different and they all have their unique form and character. There is no agreed definitive list of how many tors there are on Dartmoor but it seems certainly to be in excess of 300. The majority are on public access land which means they can be visited, though many require a good deal of effort to reach.
