New Head
I have had this sculpture of a dragonfly for over 20 years. It was made by the same sculptor who made the recently acquired owl (see recent blip.) The original head was a tea strainer but one side rotted away that gave an appearance of decay. Steve was pleased to be reacquainted and made a new head of a more durable design. The dragonfly has had a face lift and reinvigorated.
A dull and very cold day. A visit this morning to see A & K to take them their card and calendar. A was in hospital with Covid in March and K was also ill but not as seriously. They are better now but have not fully recovered to their previous health and fitness. They are both in their early 60s and neither has underlying health conditions but the lingering effects can be long lasting. Another close friend's daughter has long Covid have contracted the virus before the first lockdown. She has been told she will be able to work as a speech and language therapist again. She requires daily oxygen and has very limited energy and experiences acute tiredness after short periods of activity. There is very little publicity about the long-term effects of this disease and how it can change life.
