Zip repair

It is a tradition in my family that we have favourite clothes that are repaired rather than thrown away. This is a favourite Paramo jacket that belongs to my husband. The bottom of the zip has separated from the jacket- I forgot to take a photo at this point. One of the zip teeth is missing. This was a very challenging repair. Initially I tried to sew it back together. There was not enough remaining cloth to sew it to. I used a bit of spare material to reinforce the area and glued it with a specialist glue. The material had to be very thin to allow the zip slider to go over it. It is working at the moment but I don't have high hopes for the future . If it doesn't hold I will need to replace the zip. Maybe I could replace only one side but it would be a fiddly time consuming and difficult job. 
The jacket looks dirty in the images.  I don't know why. It is actually a very dark green.
