Ashdown Forest
Ashdown Forest - a place of wonder and beauty (and the home of Winnie the Pooh to boot!)
Camp Hill Clump - An odd place for a camp?
Not if you were a Roman Soldier billeted in ‘Briton’ between AD43 and 410 or a soldier in the late 1700s or in 1914 or in the early 1940s…. Even I got to roam over it as a young cadet in both the army cadets and then later as an officer cadet at Sandhurst - it was on the Forest that we learned to live and operate in the ‘field’!
Today all my kids have enjoyed the space during ‘Forest school’. Whatever the weather and whatever the time of year they come home usually wet and filthy, but always smiling!
