The Amaryllis is flowering

It has been a very cold and frosty morning with bright sunshine.
When I drew the curtains I got a lovely surprise. My carefully nurtured amaryllis had started to open. It turned out to be a cream colour and not the red with a white centre I bought it as from Amazon. It is years since I have grown one, so seeing it in flower is joy enough. It took several weeks to show any signs of life but was worth waiting for.
I am going for a quick walk now before the sun begins to set.
