Peek-A-Boo

The chick is finally out of the nest. For this type of bird, the chick spends about 10 days on the ground before it starts to fly, so we hear some scurrying in the bushes in our backyard. The parents are still protective and keeps watch. This is a photo of the father, whose plumage is black, while the mother is dark brown. When he saw us out and about in the backyard, he came out of nowhere, and positioned himself in the ledge of our roof.
