Both boys are home! Tom’s boss, who has been completely against his staff working from home despite government guidance to do so where possible, got Covid. Tom had been alarmed by the rising cases in London and had asked to work from home the week before Christmas to reduce the chance of him getting infected or having to isolate and missing Christmas with his family. That was begrudgingly granted but the request had not gone down well with his boss. Despite many other Christmas parties being cancelled, theirs went ahead and the whole team were expected to attend. Tom enjoyed it, but left relatively early thank goodness as hours later his boss tested positive and is now quite unwell. Tom continues to test negative.
We are still struggling to get booster appointments though. Then Josh’s friend alerted us to an unadvertised walk in clinic and we rushed over. There were 12 vaccinators sat doing nothing while a trickle of us wandered in. Josh and I got boosted within 5 minutes. They feel they can’t advertise as they get completely overwhelmed, yet their clinic is half empty with no queue at all. It seems a shame there isn’t a middle way - perhaps walk ins just for over a certain age?
Unfortunately Tom couldn’t come because he was working (from home) and his lunch break coincided with the lunch break at the clinic. Two done though.
