Daughter Christie and family and I went out to the National Cemetery here in Sarasota to help with the Wreaths Across America event, placing a wreath on each headstone.  It was very well organized by the  volunteers and we spent about 30 minutes placing the wreaths (32 of them) we were given.  We were asked to say the name of the veteran/spouse as we placed the wreath.  Christie and family had never been there and it was a great experience for all of them, but especially the boys, ages 13 and 15.  I have gone out there in years past to photograph the headstones after the wreaths were in place, but have never gone to help and would do it again.  A wonderful way to honor those who have served our country and remember them at Christmas.
