The weather app gave white cloud when I woke, so I didn't get up in a hurry. However, when I looked outside the sky was clear blue! Since A was heading for Portobello, she dropped me and Django off at Flotterstone. Once up Castlelaw, where we had this classic view across to Turnhouse and the hills further south, I saw that over the Forth and part of Edinburgh was a blanket of mist: the "weather" that I'd been expecting. So, we headed off up Allermuir, to see the view (see extra). Then, still walking hard on the uphills, and running the downhills, we worked our way around the NE hills before dropping down from the Black Hill into the frosty shadows by the reservoir. I'd been sweating buckets on the tops, but here I was distinctly chilly. However, the ascent of Turnhouse soon warmed me up, and I had a view back to Castlelaw (second extra). Fortunately A was returning at the right time, so she picked us up from Flotterstone, saving us the slightly tedious walk back home.
