Productive morning!

I was up early, then washing in and after a leisurely breakfast it was time to get on with our Christmas cake. I make Simnel cake now as it’s a bit lighter, and it’s smells so gorgeous. Amazing what you can achieve from sitting on an old office chair. So a layer of marzipan after half the cake mixture, is in the cake tin, then top off with the next half of mixture. In a couple of days I will top it with the rest of the marzipan.
While the cake was cooking I popped into the garden, I was thrilled to see the trees starting to bud! The Robin just finishes it off. The best bit is my lovely husband cleared up for me after!
