Christmas Ramble

Joined the Ramblers for a Christmas lunch and then a lovely walk around a private park. Perfect way to spend the day.
THEN got a call on Tuesday night from the Ministry of Health to inform us that one of the walkers had tested positive for covid. So we had to go and get tested the next day. Fortunately both Niall and I tested negative. Have a follow up test next week. Relieved we both have our booster shots

Corona Virus Update
Bahrain recorded 33 new cases, 0 fatalities and 55 recoveries today.

A total of 214 cases were identified between December 2 and 8, of which 130 were Bahrainis and 84 were expatriates. A total of 171 patients were infected locally while 43 cases were detected amongst travellers.
The average number of new cases per day dropped from 34 last week to 31 this week.

At least 115,000 nurses have died from Covid-19, but this WHO figure from the start of the pandemic through May was conservative and the true figure is probably twice that.
