Dead Puffin :-(

A fine morning, some mist on the hills.  A lovely sunny afternoon, and sunset.  A calm evening.

A shock this morning, getting up at 5am.  Early shift in the airport.  I was on check-in first thing, and then meeting and boarding planes.  On the check-in desk for the afternoon.  Mam and Elise came by this evening.   Elise helped me write my Christmas cards out, and then later took Sammy for walkies and card delivery's.  Big Brian and Madeline also popped by.  Early night now.

I was sadden on my lunchtime walk along the beach, I came across a dead puffin.  There has been reports of hundreds washing up across Orkney and Shetland, along with other seabirds.  They've ruled out avian bird flu, possibly been algae bloom earlier in the year, or even the recent stormy seas.  Sadly our puffins have had a bad few years of breeding, and this certainly won't help matters.  Taken at West Voe beach, Sumburgh.
