View From the Deck

I don't feel at all
adventurous today.
I will just stay home!

I had finished breakfast and my morning coffee before any light appeared in the east. At 7:20 I was out on the deck catching that bit of colour before the sunrise. It was calm, clearing and -15 C. Ten minutes later I was out again, this time in snowboots, to catch the intensified colour. 

I'm home today. It's turned into a beautiful sunny day but there are things I must get done. I started wrapping the gifts to my family here. I do enjoy playing Santa to these grown-ups. When I get the wrapping done I can store all that away for another year. 

The forecast is for a high of -7 C today. We have the warning of a heavy snowfall overnight.
