We had a little break at York, West Australia’s oldest inland town. Initially built to support wheat and sheep farming in the early colonial days, it boomed during the gold rush.

In modern times it has attracted a considerable population of an arty folk and hosts a number of art / music festivals. It has a Main Street of fine old colonial era buildings
