Far from the madding crowd……Enfield??????

Been reading it again recently so thought of Thomas Hardy as I cut thru St Andrews churchyard . This was the church where he married his second wife .
The white building on the right was built to house the parish fire engine and then in the 1880s used as a mortuary .
There’s a lot of history here ……..
