Exercise in Futility

Today I noticed the leaves starting to drop from trees around school so after our staff meeting I headed down to the park in the hopes of capturing falling leaves. Clearly that wasn't going to happen! Daft idea anyway! Definitely a futile quest.

So instead - a droplet. I had to take it at a funny angle in order to capture the double sun strike so I was unable to crop out the weird looking branch behind it. Oh well, you can't have everything.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow - I am escorting a group of students up to Denniston (a historic coal mining town, famous for the "Denniston Incline"). They will be studying the novel "Denniston Rose," and I think having the extra understanding of the hardship of the setting will help them engage more deeply with the book. Well, here's hoping anyway. It looks like we'll have the weather Denniston is famous for - rain, rain and more rain. When that lifts (which it may do) we'll just have thick fog instead.
