More fun with yesterday's flower - the two red bits are definitely beginning to separate now.

Last Christmas Tim's work organised a zoom talk by Dudley Stokes, one of the members of the Jamaican Bobsled team immortalised in the film Cool Runnings.  This year's event was tonight - a presentation by the explorer Ranulph Fiennes which was really interesting.  We watched it together and there were lots of "what did he just say?" moments from his amazing life.

He recalled the time when he was locked up in cells in Chippenham, the time he was thrown out of the SAS for trying to blow up a dam to prevent filming in Castle Combe, and some stories from the only expedition ever to go vertically around the world without flying - from Greenwich, through Antarctica, up through America and Canada to the North Pole, and riding an ice flow towards to rescue ship, ending up in Greenwich again.

Sounds like most of it was done without any money other than that provided by sponsors, with organisation done by his late wife.  Enlightening!
