Dosed

My Dear Princess and Dear Friends,

As I have mentioned on and off, Caro has been suffering pain in her wrists and there has been a lot of theorising as to what it might be by all sorts of experts.

Well, last week she final got the definitive answer that it is rheumatoid arthritis. It's a big blow for her, although she is being very staunch about it, but because her mum has MS it has always been a fear of hers to be diagnosed with a similarly degenerative illness.

It's not all bad news. Her specialist tells her that if she goes on a regime of medication the symptoms can be halted from developing. However, the medication also lowers your immune system and means she can no longer drink alcohol. It can also cause nausea as a side-effect. 

I'm very proud of Caro that she has done lots of research on this and is trying to find ways to lessen the side-effects. Today was the first day of the new medication but she was also ready with her "alternate" medication. 

MEDICAL MARY-JANE!

"I'm micro-dosing!" she likes to say.

Actually she's been taking CBD and THC for a few days now. As a result she is sleeping much better than before. Also I've been having conversations with her that go like this.

CARO: Ooooohhhh that's a cute little dog on Gogglebox.
ME: Yes, his name is "Yoshi". Why don't you Google "Gogglebox" and "Yoshi" and find out what breed he is.
CARO: Good idea. What's the dog's name?
ME: "Yoshi".
CARO: And what's the tv show?
ME: "Gogglebox".
CARO: And what's the dog's name?
ME: "Yoshi".
CARO: And what's the tv show?
ME: "Gogglebox".
CARO: (Pause)
CARO: Wait. What. What is it am I doing again?

So it feels like her recent decision to go part-time was the right decision at the right time for her. I'm glad Caro is being kind to herself finally, and hopefully ALL the drugs will help keep her happy and healthy for years and years to come.

I just love her. And the name of the dog is, "Yoshi"
