Mist at sunrise

It was an eventful start to the day. The mist lying in the valley over the river was illuminated with a backdrop of another dramatic dawn sky. The extra was taken a little later, after the sun had risen, when the sun provided shadows across the fields and a softer change of colours. After our early walk, whilst preparing breakfast, I noticed that a sparrowhawk was enjoying their breakfast. Constantly alert the sparrowhawk's meal lasted much longer than ours - about 30-40 minutes in total. All that remains are the scattered feathers.
Writing Christmas cards, wrapping presents and another walk to the post office summarises the rest of my day.
