Golden Afternoon Light, the Allegheny Front Trail

My husband and I had a few errands we needed to take care of, but amid all of that, we found time to do some hiking on the Allegheny Front Trail up above Black Moshannon State Park.

The weather was breezy, with a bit of a nip in the wind at times, but it was also sunny and lovely out. What a gift of a day, for mid-December. We walked to a spot in the woods and sat in our chairs and listened to our tunes and enjoyed the day.

On our way back out, we took a side path down the hill, into some big trees that were much littler trees back in the 80s when we started this grand, lifetime love affair. Happy memories: the two of us laughing, having good times, sharing kisses, living in the moment, making angels in the snow.

On this day, there was no snow, though. The leaves have fallen from all of the deciduous trees but the evergreens are still nice and colorful. And quite happily for me, the afternoon light through them was glorious. Please enjoy this photo of the Allegheny Front Trail in the golden afternoon light.

My soundtrack song is a favorite, with a message. Every day is a day that we can do better, and start to become a better version of ourselves. Here is Thomas Rhett, helped out by Reba McEntire and Chris Tomlin, with Be a Light.

In a time full of war, be peace
In a time full of doubt, just believe
Yeah, there ain't that much difference between you and me
In a time full of war, be peace

In a world full of hate, be a light
When you do somebody wrong, make it right
Don't hide in the dark, you were born to shine
In a world full of hate, be a light
