The Joy of Manure
Just as I was walking around the village feeling there were perhaps less festive decorations this year, I can across these creations displayed in the three top windows of one of the houses in the village square. They are quite an impressive sight and I’m so grateful to those who made the effort.
The weekend flew by. Andy played golf on Saturday while I dog walked and cleaned the house (!). Sunday was filled with grey wet weather so I stayed inside mainly - Christmas cards were written and cakes baked. A wet squidgy dog walk happened.
Today my delight has been discovering some newly delivered bags of horse manure at the allotment. We’ve not had our regular trailer loads delivered since the allotment committee decided it was too dangerous. Instead they have created some very smart ‘bins’ in which bagged manure only, can be deposited. I was beginning to think none might appear but to my joy it has! Small things… it wouldn’t be December at the allotment without me sweating under the weight of numerous wheelbarrow loads of the brown stuff!
