Mono-ho-ho Monday; Festive
Is it nearly over yet? ;-)
The weight of commericalmass has in fairness been lifted a little this year. Santa's proxies, in their white vans, have already delivered the tiny boxes of happiness to the appropriately good. The shopping is due to arrive shortly, and the drinks cupboard is fully stocked (and re-stocked. Well, you know...). No shops have actually been entered at all. That's a real Yule gift!
Santa himself is feeling a bit meh - first they stopped the children sitting on his knee, and now he's not sure he's even allowed into their homes without a facemask (which itches his beard) and a lateral flow test. And since there aren't any of those now... He imagines once they're made mandatory for nightclubbing they'll be back on the market at a fiver a pop...
Heh, ok, I'm not really that bad. We're a week off of Winter Solstice, and the fun, feasting and family continues right through to the New Year, assuming we all stay clear of the plague. But I've been painting all day, and so this was the best thing I could come up with. Tomorrow's Parish Council meeting has been binned (we're meeting online for 'discussions' instead).
Ho ho ho...
