Tarn Hows

Picked the dog up from the kennels where he'd spent the night and headed off to Coniston.

We had a few options for walks, but as we were quite tired from the early start and the late night of the day before, we decided to walk up to Tarn Hows. Our efforts were rewarded when we reached the tarn and witnessed a beautiful and almost magical wintry scene. It was quite icy on the walk around the tarn which had mostly frozen over.

We returned to Coniston, and took a walk down to the lake, before dropping the dog off again for another night at the kennels.
